UNPA Releases Year of the Dog Personalized Pane

2018-02-07 Wed

The UN Postal Administration released a Year of the Dog personalized pane on 2nd February at the Sarasota National Stamp Exhibition in Sarasota, Fla. This postal release is the ninth in UNPA’s Chinese Lunar Calendar series. It has 10 $1.15 international-rate stamps which can be used from UNPA post office at U.N. headquarters in New York City.

The stamp features a blue-coloured U.N. emblem against a white background along with the year date “2018”. A representative dog artwork appears in the selvage of the pane and on the se-tenant labels.

The design is inspired by ‘figure-ground reversal’, which understands the meanings of ‘cooperation’ and ‘sharing. The colourful designs also symbolise why these values are important for global harmony. The selvage features the UN emblem along with the words “Chinese Lunar Calendar” and “Celebrating the Year of the Dog 2018”.
