Great Scottish Novelist Muriel Spark to be Honoured on Banknotes

2018-02-05 Mon

Famed Scottish novelist Muriel Spark was known for her popular works like “The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie”. She was born on 1st February 1918 and died in April 2006. Her 100th birth anniversary would be celebrated with the release of new banknotes featuring the face of this noted writer!

Scotland’s great writers Robert Burns and Sir Walter Scott are featured currently on Scottish banknotes. Peterculter-born Nan Shepherd is another Scottish Modernist writer and poet who has been honoured on Scotland’s new polymer £5 note that was released in 2016.

Some of Kristy’s supporters have stated that she has not been celebrated as much as Burns or Sir Walter Scott, even after being one of the greatest writers of the 20th Century. They are happy that she will be honoured on national currency notes now.
