The Royal Mint is going to release a new £5 coin to honour Queen Elizabeth II, the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Cambridge and Prince George. The coin will feature their initials E, C, W and G, and three crowns. All four of them have been featured on a coin for the first time.
Gold and silver coins will be struck in Proof as well as Brilliant Uncirculated versions to form a part of “The Four Generations of Royalty Collection. 2018 is a year of celebrations for the Royal Family. The year is going to witness the 65th anniversary the Queen’s coronation, Prince of Wales’s 70th birthday and Prince George of Cambridge’s 5th birthday. Duke of Cambridge is going to tie the knot as well this year.
It would be great to see all four generations of the Royal Family on a single coin. The £5 Brilliant Uncirculated will be priced at £13, £5 Silver Proof Coin will be sold for £82.50, the £5 Silver Proof Piedfort Coin will cost £155, and the Gold Five-Ounce Coin can be purchased for £8,450.
