New Georgian Coin Celebrates 100th Anniversary of Tbilisi State University

A new 5 GEL (Georgian Lari) silver collector coin was issued by the National Bank of Georgia to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Tbilisi State University.The obverse features the emblem of the Tbilisi State University, the moon, stars, the sun and the words five lari in Georgian Language. The reverse features the main university building. Other inscriptions include "GEORGIA", "1918”, "2018" and "5 lari".
Mintage is limited to 1,500 pieces and they were all struck at the Royal Mint of Spain. The coin can be purchased for 95 GEL from the cash centre of the NBG, in the Money Museum in Kvareli and online.
