The Vaghela was the ruling Dynasty in the parts of Gujarat from 1244–1304 CE. However not much is known about this dynasty but from the coins that are found, we can evaluate the list of the rulers, viz. Srikarandeva, Sarangdeva and Karna Deva II.
The featured copper coin in the image is one of the Vaghela coins. It weighs around 1.83 grams. The obverse of the coin has a Nagari ‘Sa’ within the dotted circular border. The reverse depicts Nagari letter ‘Shri’ within the dotted border of circles. It is believed that this coin is attributed to Saranga Deva.
