Canada Post is going to release special stamps to celebrate the Year of the Dog today. The new stamp is the 10th from a 12-year series that celebrates the Chinese New Year. 12 animal signs of the Chinese zodiac are assigned to every Chinese year.
The stamps depict a golden dog on a glowing red lantern. The Chinese character for Dog is also mentioned in calligraphy. The stamps will be unveiled officially at the main post office in Vancouver. Officials from the Chinese Consul, Vancouver Coun and, Canada Post, along with the stamp designer and illustrator will present at the opening ceremony.
