Kolkata Artist’s Paintings on German Stamps

Two postage stamps were released by the German postal service Deutsche Post AG, featuring paintings by an artist from Kolkata named Sudip Chatterjee.Sudip completed his Bachelors in Science from the University of Calcutta and his post-graduation from the Indian College of Art & Draftsmanship in 1986. He was also Awarded senior fellowship by HRD ministry for 2016-18. The German Postal service took his permission for depicting two of his paintings on their 1.45 euro postal stamps.
Chatterjee had displayed his works at Galerie Sabine Neubuhr, Germany from 30th May to 19th June. He is also going to participate in an exhibition at Gallerie Stauferland at Goppingen near Stuttgart from 31st May to 17th June this year.
Chatterjee was an artist at the Kuntseminar Freie Hochschule in Metzingen, Germany. He has showcased his work in Stuttgart, Berlin, Paris, Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata. His work is included in the National Gallery of Modern Art, Roopankar Museum, Bharat Bhawan and other private and public collections in different parts of the world.
