National level stamp design competition is going to be organised by India post, the theme of which is going to be "potter’s wheel". The stamp will be launched on Republic Day in New Delhi next year.

Entries were to be sent to Assistant director Philately Room number 108, Dak bhavan, New Delhi before 22nd December. The rights for the entries would be reserved by the post office. The designs will be used by post office for stamps and other philatelic items.

The entries will be judged by the Department of Posts headquarters at Delhi. India Posts’ website has listed the rules for the competition. Computer printed entries or printouts were not allowed last year. Participants can use drawing paper, art paper or any other type of white paper of A4 size. The entries must have an original design in ink, water-colour, oil colour or any other medium.

This competition is a part of republic day celebrations 2018. A similar design competition was held last year on the theme ‘Vibrant India” and the stamp was launched on Republic Day in New Delhi.
