Rare Coins Displayed at World Telugu Conference

An interesting collection of Gobada, Narana, Sarivaya coins and more were exhibited by K Venkatesh at the World Telugu Conference which was held at Ravindra Bharathi. Other highlights included almost 172 rare coins, from 500 BC onwards. Visitors got a complete insight into coins and currency notes issued by different rulers from various parts of the State.The exhibition was organised by K Venkatesh who is an electrical engineer by profession. He has been collecting coins from his childhood days. He found some of them near river beds and purchased the others. His grandfather also loved collecting rare coins and banknotes. Some interesting items are from his grandfather’s collection as well.
