APMEX is offering a wide range of 2018 Gold and Silver Somalian Elephant coins. The Bavarian State Mint produced Gold and Silver Elephant coins for the first time in the African Wildlife series for Zambia in 1999. Even after the country of issue changed to the Somali Republic in 2004, the coins remained popular. This series is known for its unique designs and high metal content options. Many options for the latest release are available in terms of metal type and unique packaging.

The Somali Coat of Arms with two leopards supporting a shield; a five-pointed star, a ribbon over two crossed lances and two crossed palm fronds is featured on the new coin. The reverse design changes annually. An adult elephant with its trunk near the coin’s edge is featured on the new coin’s reverse. Two birds in flight and a leafless tree is shown in the background.
