This Silver rupee of Akbar which he issued from Agra is estimated at INR 1,00,000-1,20,000 in the upcoming Auction of Classical Numismatic Gallery.
This silver rupee was minted in Agra, in the month of Ardibihist, during the 44th year of his reign. The obverse of the coin is inscribed as ‘Allah Akbar’ at the top and ‘Jale Jalaluhu’ at the bottom. The reverse of the coin is inscribed as Ilahi month at the top, mint name and year at the bottom.
Auction was held on 15th December 2017 at Pune, around 5 p.m. This extremely rare coin was sold for INR 1,00,000.
