Pre-WWII Stamp-sets From French Colonies
2017-12-08 Fri
There is a lot of demand among collectors for classic stamps issued before World War II. The longer sets of French colonies and offices have a low catalogue value but are many-a-times difficult to find.French offices in Egypt at Alexandria and Port Said had special stamps. The first set of postage due stamps issued for Alexandria in 1922 has a catalogue value of $15.75 in unused hinged condition and at $29 in mint never-hinged condition. Their pricing has not changed for a long time and the set in mint never-hinged condition is value for money. The margins were small and the cantering is not that great. Stamps with designs unaffected by perforations are considered to be Very Fine.
