Prince Henry and Ms. Meghan Markle announced their engagement on 27th November 2017. The Royal Mint celebrated this event with the release of The House of Windsor 2017 UK £5 Brilliant Uncirculated Coin. The couple is going to get married next spring at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle. The Brilliant Uncirculated coin has a face value of £5, is made of Cupro-nickel and weighs 28.28g.

Designer Timothy Noad is an expert in calligraphy and heraldry. He is a Herald Painter at HM College of Arms in London and is known for vellum by making use of traditional gilding and painting techniques. He has also designed a Sovereign for The Queen’s Golden Jubilee and a series of £1 coin designs based on the floral emblems of England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.

Designer Jody Clark is known for creating the fifth definitive coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II in 2015. He also designed for medals struck for 2014 Ryder Cup and the NATO Summit. His modern version of Britannia was used on the 2014 Britannia coin.
