11 stamps were released by Slovenia on 10th November to celebrate Slovene industrial design. One of these was a 78¢ stamp featuring a Gorenje Simple & Logical washing machine of 1996.
Gorenje is a Slovene manufacturer of large appliances. The featured washing machine was the first touch-controlled home appliance in the world. The company focusses on a user-centric design and simplified usage.
A 48¢ stamp features the new logo of Slovenia’s post office, Posta Slovenije. A €1.29 stamp from the Slovene Film series honours Hang on Doggie which was the first Slovene film about modern-day children that released on 16th November 1977.
On 10th November, four stamps were released celebrating Christmas and New Year holidays; one to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 1917 May Declaration, and three stamps were released featuring food. Two of the stamps depicting food belong to the Gastronomy series. The third one is the first in a new series named Slovenes in the World. Mate tea of Argentina and walnut cake of Slovenia are featured on the stamp.
