Emirates Philatelic Association and Mega Mall Sharjah came together to conduct the Sharjah 2017 Stamp Exhibition from 14th to 18th November at Mega Mall. 17 countries participated in the event with rare exhibits of unique stamps and coins.
The exhibits were categorised based on 46 different themes depending on the interests of the exhibitors and the type and quality of exhibits. Other events like lectures titled 'Iraqi financial and postage stamps', and 'Save Palestine: 1948-1951,' along with a public auction of stamps and rare coins were also conducted. Collectors, hobbyists and vendors of rare stamps, coins, and paper currencies from the UAE and other countries came down to participate in this popular exhibition.
Emirates Post Group released a series of seven commemorative stamps to celebrate UAE's Year of Tourism. Each stamp is priced at AED 3 and is released in sheets of twelve. The Emirates Post generally issues stamps to celebrate all local and international events and occasions. The latest release is the fourth one in 2017 for the Emirates Post.
