Rago Auctions is going to offer a wide variety of small denomination gold coins and other interesting coins on 2nd December at its office located between NYC and Philadelphia. 500 lots containing coins and currency which is two millennia old, from more than 12 countries will be offered. Many highly graded Colonial and American coins, a collection of Barber quarters and half-dollars and a selection of NGC Details rare small denomination gold coins from rare mints like Charlotte and Dahlonega, some of which are the rarest in the series, are the highlights. A 1912 Sun Yat Sen Chinese $1 Coin, graded MS65; a 1777 Benjamin Franklin Terracotta Medallion designed by Jean-Baptiste; and a lightly circulated 1914 First National Bank of Manitowoc $10 Note with a serial number of 1 will also be offered.
Auction Exhibition/Preview/Bidding will take place from 25th November to 29th November. From December 1st to 3rd, entry will start at 9 a.m. On 28th November, an Open House by historian and author Joseph A. Williams, “Sunken Gold: The Story of the Greatest Treasure Salvage in History” will take place. Telephone, absentee and online bidding options are also available.
