Pobjoy Mint released a $30 High Relief 5oz Proof to celebrate the 100th Birth Anniversary of John F. Kennedy. JFK was born on 29th May 1917 and assassinated by a gunman named Lee Harvey Oswald in Dallas Texas on 22nd November 1963. JFK was the 35th President of the US from January 1961 until his assassination. He had to focus on handling the Cold War intelligently and managing relations with the Soviet Union.

The Reverse depicts a detailed high relief portrait of JFK. Other inscriptions include the year of JFK’s birth, the centenary of his birth and a heart. Two other versions are available, In one of the versions, the heart is Gold plated while the other version has a Purple Swarovski crystal inset into the heart.

The obverse features and exclusive Pobjoy Mint effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. The mintage limit for the 5oz Proof Fine silver version is 400 while that of the gold plating and crystal infused versions is 100 pieces. The coins are minted as legal tender for British Virgin Islands.
