The Indian Postal service issued new stamps celebrating delicious cuisines from different parts of the country last Friday. The featured cuisines include biryani, baghare baingan, seviyan, Tirupati's laddu from Hyderabad, Andhra dishes like idlidosa and pongal. Other cuisines include Dhokla, Raj Bhog, Dal bati, Golgappa, Litti Chokha, Modak, Makke ki-sarson ka saag, motichoor ka ladoo, peda, poha jalebi, sandesh, thekua, vada pao, malpua etc.
India is known all over the world for its rich and diverse traditions. This fact is reflected through the variety of cuisines that our country boasts of. Every state in India offers a platter of traditional dishes which are uniquely prepared and are peculiar in taste. These preparations based on the availability of ingredients in that area, climatic conditions, history and more.
