2017-11-01 Wed

The Scott Classic Specialized Catalogue of Stamps and Covers 1840-1940 describes an unissued 1930 German stamp. A design A43 stamp in green exists featuring the inscription ‘Reichsmark’ instead of ‘Mark’. Some of these unissued examples are known in private hands and is valued at $15,000.

A corner margin example of this stamp will be offered in the 434th public auction by Rasdale Stamp Co. in the firm’s Chicago office on 18th and 19th November. The offered coin is almost similar to Germany Scott 337. It has no gum, is graded fine-very fine and has an opening bid of $3,250. Above the stamp, in the margin selvage, is the text “50”.
