There are official reports that the Central Bank of Vietnam is going to import more equipment and materials for printing their banknotes. Organisations with a permission to import equipment and materials for printing banknotes will be expanded to help central bank’s demand for printing money. Only the National Banknote Printing Plant is allowed to import equipment and materials currently.
An organisation will be appointed in the banking sector with an eligible legal status and capacity to import these materials and equipment. The central bank will also have documents to confirm equipment and materials imported.
This move will make customs clearance easier as these materials are not exempted for customs clearance under the Law on Customs. This new rule will be implemented from 20th November.
