Sartore specialises in documenting endangered species and landscapes around the world. He also founded the documentary project - Photo Ark, to save species and habitat.
This souvenir sheet comes with an $800 stamp. A block of four se-tenant $500 stamps featuring other animal photographs by Sartore was also released at the same time.
