Guyana released a special souvenir sheet to highlight the long neck of a giraffe on 14th April. Giraffes can grow up to 14 feet to 19 feet tall, making them the tallest in the animal kingdom. Their unique lanky neck can grow up to 6 feet as well.
The stamp features a picture of a giraffe taken by the National Geographic photographer Joel Sartore at Rolling Hills Wildlife Adventure in Salinas, Kan. Sartore specialises in documenting endangered species and landscapes around the world. He also founded the documentary project - Photo Ark, to save species and habitat.
This souvenir sheet comes with an $800 stamp. A block of four se-tenant $500 stamps featuring other animal photographs by Sartore was also released at the same time.
