The coin shown alongside is Battle Axe Type of Samudragupta coins. It weighs around 7.34g. The obverse of the coin depicts a king standing facing left, holding a Battle-Axe in the left hand, right hand resting on his waist, Brahmi legend Samudra below his left hand, a dwarf attendant (Vamana) on the left looking up to the king from behind holding crescent-topped standard, with Brahmi legend Kritantaparshurjayatyajita rajjetajitah. The reverse depicts goddess Lakshmi seated facing on a throne, holding pasha (noose) in her right hand, cornucopia in the left hand, Tamgha on left and right Brahmi legend mentions the battle-axe as 'Krutanta parashu'.
