Highlights from Sunday Internet Auction by David Lawrence

David Lawrence offered several interesting rare coins during its Sunday Internet Auction which closed on 8th October. Some of the highlights included: 861 1c PCGS Proof 66; 1918 5c PCGS/CAC MS67; 1797 H10c NGC VF35 (16 Stars); 1862-S 50c PCGS MS65; 1889-CC $1 PCGS/CAC MS62; 1893-S $1 PCGS VF20; 1896-S $1 NGC MS64 etc.A 1889-CC $1 PCGS/CAC MS62 featuring light lilac toning over slightly abraded surfaces was offered. It boasts of original lustre with frosty surfaces. A 1853-O $20 NGC/CAC AU55 was also offered. Out of the 71,000 pieces that were minted, fewer than five examples of this date exist in the Uncirculated state. This coin has a very light wear with beautiful lustre and few marks in the fields. A 1862-S 50c PCGS MS65 S-mint from the Civil War era was another highlight. The coin has a golden tint in its satiny. It is the finest graded of this date. Another coin is graded finer by PCGS.
