Canada Post released a new NHL collection of postage stamps celebrating famous and iconic hockey players like Maurice (Rocket) Richard, Jean Beliveau, Gordie Howe, Bobby Orr, Mario Lemieux, and Wayne Gretzky. It is believed that these players changed the face of hockey over career-span of 60 years. The stamp release also celebrates the 100th anniversary of NHL in a special and memorable way. It is the final release from the five-year series of hockey stamps. The stamp features a picture of the player in their jersey and an image of Stanley Cup in the background.

They scored 9,500 points in total in almost 7,000 regular-season games, won 40 Stanley Cup championships, and more than 80 individual awards. In 2013, Team jersey stamps were out, in 2014, the Original Six defencemen stamps were released, in 2015, the Great Canadian Goalie stamps were out and stamps depicting Great Canadian Forwards were released last year. The first hockey-themed stamp of Canada was released in 1956 depicting three players in their Canada jerseys.
