Rare Key Morgan Dollars Up For Auction on 26th October

Legend Rare Coin Auctions’ Regency XXIII Auction is going to offer the finest known example of a Vermeule-Coronet 1893-S Morgan dollar, graded Mint State 67 in Philadelphia with a green CAC sticker on 26th October. The coin is also the rarest Morgan dollar of this key date. The coin has a good lustre and subtle shades. It has an estimated value of $1.3 million to $1.5 million.Another highlight is the fine3st known example of a 1893-O dollar graded MS-66 Prooflike by PCGS with a green CAC sticker. The coin features deep mirrors with blue, violet and orange colours. It has tiny minor ticks, apart from which, there are no major anomalies.
The same coin was sold at a 2015 Legend auction for $458,250 after which it became a part of the Coronet Collection. J.M. Clapp from Colvin Randall bought the coin for the first time in March 1894. It was acquired by many others over a period of 100 years.
Another offering is the second finest known 1892-S dollar, graded PCGS MS-67 with a green CAC sticker. It was sold at the Eliasberg auction for $132,000. After two more deals, it was finally sold in June 2015 for $446,500 to enter the Coronet Collection.
