Stack Bower’s Collectors Choice Online (CCO) Auction for World Paper Money will end on 4th October. One of the highlights includes a rare French Pick 77sp Specimen Proof, graded PMG 64 EPQ. It is an original 50 Francs design created by Luc Olivier Merson featuring Allegorical angels. The offered banknote has no serial numbers, dates, signatures, or watermarks. The cantering is great as well.Another highlight is a Tahiti 1,000 Francs high denomination note featuring a bare-chested woman. The design has been used on banknotes from other countries as well. They are rarely available in good condition with the Papeete place name like the offered note which is the second finest known.
An early date Pick 11 1905 10 Mil Reis Ouro from the Banco de Portugal, graded PMG Very Fine 30 with an “ACORES” overprint on Portugal Pick 81, without major netting defects, is also offered.
