Two Rare and Unique Modern Russian Errors to be Auctioned

Sincona Ag is going to auction two modern Russian mint error coins on 23rd October in Zurich. The Auction house is also going to offer classic coins of the czars and czarinas apart from modern issues.The 2016 ringed-bimetallic 10-ruble “mule” coin celebrating the Irkutsk region was struck with a reverse die that was supposed to be used for a normal 5-ruble coin. A mule error coin is made with a die which is supposed to be used for another coin. The auction house claims that it is an Extremely rare mint error.
A 2016 10-ruble coin with an off-metal strike celebrating the ancient town of Rzhev in the Tver Region is also one of the highlights. The coin was struck on a planchet that was supposed to be used for the 25-ruble coin. Both the Brilliant Uncirculated coins have opening bids of 500 Swiss francs.
