Rare and Beautiful 1945-S Walking Liberty Half Dollar Sold for $9,000

A 1945-S Walking Liberty Half Dollar, graded MS-67 with a CAC sticker was sold for $9,000 by Heritage Auction’s at Long Beach Coin, Currency, Stamp & Sports Collectible Expo. A rare 1795 Flowing Hair, Reeded Edge cent was sold for $192,000. Many other U.S. coins, world coins and paper money were sold for a total of $20 million.The mintage limit of Adolph Alexander Weinman’s beautiful Walking Liberty Half Dollar was over 10 million coins. But these coins are very rare to find in top grades. The market rate for solid Mint State 65 examples is around $100 while that of MS-66 is $200. Only 42 coins are graded MS-67 by PCGS. Only two are graded MS-67+.
Common examples in this grade have sold for $5,000 at recent auctions. The offered coin had rich magenta and green-gold toning on the edges.
