India has a very glorious past since its very first civilization. Every ruler who ruled on the soil of India has done something or the other for its betterment. But in spite of it, everyone has its personal favourite ruler or dynasty.So if Gupta is your most favorite dynasty then you are reading the right article!
Gupta dynasty ruled from 320 to 550 CE. They made progress in the field of science, mathematics, astronomy, religion, and philosophy because of which Gupta period is popularly known as the Golden Era of Ancient India.
We are starting a news trivia where we will be discussing each Gupta rulers’ coinage. Also, we will come up with some really cool facts of the Gupta Empire.
The following is the gist of the rulers who issued coins and we will discuss them in detail in our next article.
Samudra Gupta: Standard Type, King- Queen Type, Archer Type, Battle Axe Type, Ashvamedha Type, Lyrist Type, Tiger Slayer and Kacha type.
RamaGupta: Lion Type and Garuda type.
Chandragupta II: Archer type, Scepter type, Lion slayer type, Horseman type, Chhatra type, Couch type, Bust type, etc.
Kumaragupta: Archer type, Horseman type, Lion slayer type, Tiger slayer type, Rhinoceros Type, Elephant rider type, Swordsman type, Karttikeya type, Apratigha Type, Lyrist Type, Western type, Madhyadesha type, lead coins, etc.
