This copper coin was minted during the rule of Kalachuri King, Krishnaraja of Mahismati. This dynasty has various branches throughout the Indian history. Its earliest administrative evidence can be found from the Kingdom of Mahismati.The know coins from King Krishnaraja coinage are minted in silver and copper. The above-shown copper issue contains at least four types. The obverse of this coin depicts a bull in the seated position facing right within the dotted border. The reverse of this coin depicts legend in Brahmi 'Sri Krishnaraja ' above the dotted three-peaked hills within the dotted border.
The second type of this series illustrates a circular legend on the reverse with a bull is depicted on the obverse side. The third type shows a seated goddess in reverse with a bull. The fourth type of this copper series depicts a bull in obverse; its reverse side depicts a lotus flower design.
