New 100 yuan bank notes were released in November 2015 in China. It was a part of the fifth set of bank notes introduced by the People’s Bank of China in 1999. China's largest denomination 100 yuan note was changed ten years earlier. The design elements remained the same but the new notes had better security features. Added security features include colour changing ink, an extra serial number and a more complicated design of Beijing's Great Hall of the People building.
