The sale of 2017 America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin celebrating Ellis Island will begin today on 7th September.

The reverse features an immigrant family walking towards Ellis Island. The hospital building is shown in the background. Inscriptions include “ELLIS ISLAND,” “NEW JERSEY,” “2017,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”

The coins are struck in .999 fine silver at Philadelphia Mint with a “P” mint mark. They are packaged in a presentation case along with a certificate of authenticity. The cost of one coin is $149.95 which can vary depending on the changing value of the precious metal.

The mintage limit for the numismatic as well as bullion versions is 150,000 units. The maximum potential mintage limit is set as 25,000 units. Based on the demand, the US Mint can mint over 125,000 coins until it crosses the 150,000 coin limit.
