Rago Coin Auction Sells $10 Proof for $66,275

Rago Arts and Auction Center’s Coins and Currency Auction made $319,674 USD in sales on 24th August. Various kinds of rare and ancient coins and currency, early American coppers like 1838 Matron Head Large 1C Coin etc were offered at the event. Early copper coins and World currency are slowly becoming favourites among young numismatists.A U.S. 1902 Liberty $10 Gold Proof Coin was sold for $66,275. Only 113 such coins were issued and the sale was a record for the company. It was also the highest price given to a single Coin at auction. It set an auction record for this coin in this grade.
Other highlights of the auction included a U.S. 1911-D Indian $2.50 Gold Coin, graded NGC MS61 that was sold for $6,628 and an 1865 National Bank of Frederick Maryland $1 Note that was sold for $5,423
