Phase Out of Old Round Pound Met With a Roadblock
2017-08-28 Mon
As England tries its best to phase out old pound coins, the Government has met with a major roadblock. Many firms are returning the new 12-sided coins instead of old ones to cash centers by mistake. Authorities have asked firms to be careful while returning coins as the old pound coin would become invalid on 15th October. They have also asked businesses to organise separate packaging for old and new coins to make the sorting process quicker and easier. Cashiers and shopkeepers at till points are being urged to only hand over new pounds to shoppers in their change.Latest News
