Bajirao Peshwa: The Great Warrior-Diplomat!

When we talk about Peshwa Baji Rao, the first thing comes to our mind is the movie! Larger than the life, Bajirao Mastani was released in 2015 by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. It was a major hit and best movie of that year, showing the glimpse of the historical epic and love story between Baji Rao and Mastani!But the hero Baji Rao Peshwa was more than this. He was the man of character and known for his rapid tactical movements in the battle field. It is believed that he fought around 41 battles and never lost any in his 20 years of military career!
Looking back on his battles, the battle with Nizam was the biggest battle ever fought by Baji Rao. This was known as the Battle of Palkhed (28 Feb 1728). The victory by Rao not only showcased his tactical war strategy but also his maturity of political views.
Peshwa Bajirao expanded his Maratha Empire beyond Maharashtra and was recognized in Delhi. Bajirao is thus acknowledged as one of the greatest warriors in Indian history. He changed the map of India in the mid eighteenth century.
By his victorious bravery, Peshwa Bajirao was a true forerunner of Chhatrapati Shivaji's dream. We add his name to the list of the brave rulers which our glorious India had! This hero was born on 18th August 1700. He lived for 40 years and proved himself as the great warrior and Diplomat.
