The Himalayas, the newest mountain ranges which have illustrated the Indian subcontinent with its natural beauty and wide mountains, are home to four mighty rivers like Ganga, Brahmaputra, Sutlej, and Indus is the Himalayas. It has shaped the movement and destinies the races in and around Asia.This is an adobe of lord Shiva and a home to many ascetic and sages of this Indian peninsula. It has also influenced the architecture of the temple like Ellora in Maharashtra and Kailasnath in Kanchipuram and the Buddhist Stupas in the form of their shikhara as the peak, the temple tanks as the lake. The whole ethos of the Himalayas was recreated in these forms.

India Post has issued the set of four stamps to illustrate the mighty peaks of the grand Himalayas in 1988.
