2017-08-10 Thu
The 260th birth anniversary of the man who built the Menai Bridge, Thomas Telford was celebrated in a rather interesting way. Almost 1,000 £1 coins featuring a picture of Menai Bridge were arranged to form an outline of the Menai Bridge itself at Anglesey. Most of these coins were donated and all of them will be saved for support plans to build a £1m community museum by local a group named Menai Heritage. The round £1 coins were replaced by new 12-sided version in October.Latest News
