The Royal Canadian Mint released 2017 $30 Fine Silver Coin – Gate to Enchanted Garden with filigree on it for the first time ever. The filigree pattern is made of white bronze to highlight a wrought-iron gate in front of a colourful garden.

The maple leaf-shaped 2017 $200 Pure Gold Coin – Autumn Fire uses gradient technology colouring. The tips of the leaf are red in colour which fades to bright gold at the centre. A similar shaped 2017 $20 Fine Silver Coin – Gilded Silver Maple Leaf, features a repeating pattern of maple leaves. Selective gold plating is used on three leaves.

The 2017 Commemorative Proof Set – 1967 Centennial Coins reproduce the famous Centennial circulation coin designs like a gold plated version of the 50-year-old special edition $20 gold coin.

Reverse gold plating is used on the 2017 $50 Fine Silver Coin – DC Comics Originals: The Brave and the Bold. Superman emerges from a collage of laser-engraved comic book frames on this coin.

Several other interesting coins have been released by the Royal Canadian Mint.
