Medical Inventions Celebrated on Recent Stamps

Mexico, Belgium and Spain recently released stamps celebrating inventions in the field of health and medicine. Mexico released a se-tenant pair of stamps on World Intellectual Property Day – 26th April. These stamps featured different inventions like Scorpion anti-venom developed by Alejandro Alagon Cano. Alagon was also known for inventing anti-venoms for snake and spider bites.

Belgium released a pane of five stamps on 12th June celebrating the invention of mosquito repellent by Alfons Vandoninck. Spain recently released a stamp commemorating the invention of disposable syringes by Manuel Jalon Corominas in 1973. A souvenir sheet of four stamps was released on 10th July to honour the discovery of fibre optics.
