Indian Head Cents Sold at Record Prices by GreatCollections

GreatCollections sold several special Mint State and Proof Indian Head cents and type coins from The Sedona Collection for record prices. The auction realized a total of $347,565. The Sedona Collection was assembled over a period of more than 10 years.An 1868 Indian Head cent, graded Proof 65 red sold for $9,295, against a market value of $7,250. An 1884 Indian Head cent, graded Proof 66 red and brown with a CAC sticker was sold for $1,442 against a market value of $1,150. An 1898 Indian Head cent, graded Mint State 66 red with a CAC sticker sold for $5,995 against a market value of $2,250. An 1899 Indian Head cent, graded MS-65 red was sold for $1,265 against a market value of $550. A 1906 Indian Head cent, graded Proof 65 red with a CAC sticker sold for $2,035 against a market value of $1,050. A 1910 Indian Head, gold $2.50 quarter eagle, graded Proof 65 with a CAC sticker was sold for $31,351. This coin set an all-time auction record for the coin in that grade from that grading service.
