The RBI will soon release new Rs. 20 banknotes in Mahatma Gandhi series 2005. There would not be any change in the designs of the notes. They would be similar to the Rs. 20 banknotes in the same series that were issued earlier. The new notes will feature inset letter ‘S’ in both the number panel along with the signature of Governor Urjit R Patel. All the banknotes of this denomination issued earlier will continue to be legal tender.
