Rare Chinese Coins to be Offered by Champion Auction in Hong Kong

Rare Chinese coins belonging to French collector Charles E. Tanant will be offered by Champion Auction on 20th August at the Hyatt Regency, 18 Hanoi Road, Hong Kong.The collection contains Chinese provincial coins from the late Imperial and the Republican period, which have been collected over a period of 36 years. These coins have not hit the market for 90 years.
Some of the highlights include: CHINA-KIANGNAN ND 1898 10 Cents Silver, with a Reeded Edge, graded MS65 having an estimate of US $1,000-2,000; CHINA-KIANGNAN 1898 10 Cents Silver, featuring Encircled Dragon, graded PCGS MS64, having an estimate of $3,000-6,000; CHINA-SZECHUAN 1902-11 One Rupee Silver, Without Collar and Vertical Rosette, graded MS65+ with an estimate of $10,000-20,000; CHINA-KIRIN ND 1903 20 Cash Copper, with large characters, graded MS62BN, having an estimate of $3,000-6,000.
