Bank of Ireland’s 2017 Mint Set

From 10th July onwards, the Central Bank of Ireland 2017 Annual Mint Set was available. The set costs €29 and postal charges of €5.54 are applicable within the Republic of Ireland. The theme for the set is "Irish Lighthouses and the Irish Coast Guard" and it is the final one from the "Island Nation" series.Due to the recent loss of the crew of Rescue 116, proceeds from the sales will be donated to the main beneficiary Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) DG. The set contains denominations from 1 cent to €2 struck in a Brilliant Uncirculated finish. The mintage limit is 8,000 pieces.
The Bank’s next coin is going to celebrate life and achievements of engineer Sir Charles Algernon Parsons who is best known for inventing compound steam turbine. This technology was used for marine transportation and electric power generation.
The next coin in Europa Star series "The Ages of Europe" is going to feature Dublin’s Ha’penny Bridge. The Bank is also planning to release a new website where collectors can buy their coins online.
