Sparks Auctions offered Canadian, British North American, and worldwide stamps for sale on 23rd and 24th May in Ottawa. One of the highlights was an imperforate block of 12 of Canada’s 1903 2¢ King Edward VII definitive, which sold for $13,800 in Canadian dollars with 15 percent buyers fee. Six stamps on the left-hand side are the other way round as the partial sheet is two tete-beche booklet panes. Each pane of six was supposed to have a margin on the left for binding the booklets.A set of plate proofs of 1935 King George V Canadian definitives from 1¢ to $, on India paper mounted on card, in gutter-margin blocks of four and eight, was sold for $3,300. A set of die proofs of the set issued by Newfoundland remembering Sir Humphrey Gilbert in 1933 with the 14 designs in black on watermarked paper was sold for $3,800.
