Princely state of Chhota Udaipur

In previous articles, we have discussed the political system of various Princely States and what was the impact British rule had on them. How was the British administration function with these Princely States, we have also learned how the states monetary and postal system performed. Today we will highlight about a Princely state of eastern Gujarat called ‘Chhota Udaipur'.This state was ruled by the Rajputs of Chauhan dynasty. It was established by Rawal Udeysinhji, a descendant of Pataj Rawal of Champaner. This state shares its history with Devgadh Baria and Rajpipla Princely states of eastern Gujarat.
This state, like all the Princely States of British Raj, issued stamps. This above shown green stamp depicts the portrait of HH Raja Maharawal Shri Natwar Sinhji Fate Sinhji.
This state belonged to Rewa Kantha Agency and merged into the Union of India on March 10, 1948.
