Malta Issues New 2017 Euro Coin Set

Malta issued a new euro coin set in a brilliant uncirculated version on 31st May. It comprises of eight Maltese euro coins and a €2 coin featuring the prehistoric temples of Hagar Qim. This coin is the 2nd in the seven-coin series celebrating the country’s prehistoric monuments.The 3,600-3,200 BCE old Hagar Qim Temples is a UNESCO World Heritage Site which has the largest stone megaliths among others found in the Maltese islands. It is also the oldest free-standing monuments in the world.
The coins were produced at the Monnaie de Paris in France. 25,000 sets are available for sale packaged in interesting illustrated blister-pack.
