Wrong Information Released by US Mint About 2015 American Eagle

2017-05-26 Fri

It was officially declared on May 25th by US Mint that Information about tracking numbers of the facility where 2015-dated silver American Eagle bullion coins were struck has some errors. Details about coins struck at the Philadelphia and West Point Mints are correct but that of the 500-coin boxes of 20-coin tubes were incorrect. This wrong information is being used to promote some coins as rarities in the market. A complete explanation of the event would be released on 30th June.

The statement read that many of these coins were struck at West Point Mint as per demand and some of them were also minted at the Philadelphia and San Francisco Mint facilities. Authorised Purchasers sell these coins with a premium. None of these coins has a mint mark to ensure that they are all identical. It then stated that some of the information released on 20th March about the tracking numbers used on the boxes that contain American Eagle silver bullion coins for authorised Purchasers had some errors.
