The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has released the Rufiyaa 5 which is the last note in the new series. All the notes in this series have been designed by Maldivian artist Mr. Abdulla Nashaath and were produced by De La Rue along with the MMA. The new note features various cultural aspects and a footballer in the foreground connecting the fast and present of the country.

Officials of De La Rue revealed that they are honoured to be a part of this important project. The polymer note has several advanced security features to prevent any kind of counterfeit activities.
