The two sons Ernst and Dr Hubert Lanz joined the business in 1963 and 1966 respectively. Lanz conducted its first auction in 1972 in Graz. Munich became the headquarters after Gitta Kastner’s auction house was acquired due to her unexpected death in 1977. World-famous collections like the Marquis de Hohenkubin collection, of fashion queen Margaretha Ley, the Roman coins of Leo Benz or Corinth and Euboea from the BCD Collection were sold at Graz.

After 1999, Numismatik Lanz has two real numismatic dealerships located in Graz and Munich apart from eBay. Collectors throughout the world connect with each other through Numismatik Lanz. The 200,000th invoice for an item sold on eBay by Numismatik Lanz was celebrated in April 2016.
