South Africa Post Falling Short of Postage Stamps
2017-04-19 Wed
Many South Africans are becoming less dependent on the South African Post Office due to a shortage of postage stamps. Printouts of postage stamps had to be used by a gentleman to send an international mail.Sticker printouts were introduced by the Post Office but they are all date stamped which need to be used on the same or the next day. Officials have asked branches to exchange stamps so that they maintain sufficient stock.
Officials also revealed that the post office currently has four different types of postage stamps for international small letters which don’t expire when postal rates change. These stamps can be stocked up by users.
They don’t have any plans to shut down post offices and have recently announced a brand new set of international postage stamps celebrating the Krugerrand’s 50th anniversary.
